The Great Snape Debate

So finally here is my first post related to harry potter. I'm surprised at myself that it took me almost 5 months to post this.

Everyone knows what the great Snape debate is. And if you don't, there's siriusly something ron with you. Honestly, where have you been living?

So the Snape debate is about whether Snape is a good or bad person. Some people think he is a hero but many more think he was just a sore bully. And in my opinion he was definitely not the 'bravest man i ever knew'.

But without sounding biased, I'm going to lay out all the facts on why Snape is considered a good person and why Snape is considered a bad guy. So before I actually start ranting about why Snape is a bad guy, lets start:

       Why Snape is a good person:

• He was a double agent. He risked his life - sometimes even against his will. If Voldemort would have came to know, his life would've been over in a matter of torturous seconds. Because of his job, the Order was able to survive.
• And people still hated him and didn't trust him.
• He saved Harry's life a number of times, despite how much he hated the boy.
• He made a perfect wolfsbane potion for Remus every full moon even though he hated him and could've tampered with it.
• Even though he hated Sirius, he did not give him away to the ministry. well he did
• He hated Bellatrix. Anyone who hates Bellatrix has my respect. Somewhat.
• He helped Harry find the horcruxes after Dumbledore died.

      Why Snape is a bad person:

• He was a death eater.
• And if Voldemort hadn't targeted the potters he would've stayed so.
• If Neville was the chosen one instead of Harry, it wouldn't have affected him in any way and he would've lived and died the most loyal death eater.
• He was the one who told Voldemort about the prophecy.
• He was the reason that both Neville and Harry were orphans.
• He bullied 11 year old kids, for Merlin's sake. I mean, your abused childhood is not an excuse for bullying kids.
• He bullied Neville so much that the poor boy's boggart was Snape.
• He even threatened to kill trevor.
• He insulted Hermione and called her 'an insufferable know-it-all'
• He probably would've killed James if he had gotten the chance.
• He asked Dumbledore to save Lily. Only Lily. He didn't care for James or Harry.
• He was a death eater, he probably knew that Sirius was innocent and Pettigrew had betrayed them. But he didn't say a word.
• He literally threw Sirius to the dementors.
• He made Lupin's entire class write essays on werewolves, hoping somebody would realize that he was one.
• And when it didn't work. He 'accidentally' let it slip that Lupin was a werewolf.

In conclusion, Snape was a bad guy who was working for a good cause. He came over the good side just because the dark side had offended him.

(Alright, I know I sounded a bit biased. Fine, a lot.)
